About WIKD Radio:
WIKD is a low-power FM, free-format, student run radio station serving the broadcasting needs of the Embry-Riddle & Daytona Beach population.
Radio at Embry-Riddle has its roots back to the early 70's with the first campus radio club at the new Daytona Beach campus, WSST, focusing on AM-broadcasting, and providing DJ services for the Embry-Riddle community.
This was the basis for the modern day re-incarnation of WSST, and WIKD Eagles FM's predecessor, as WERU. What once started out of a closet in McKay Residence Hall as a broadcasting club in 1993, WERU soon moved into a larger studio, with upgraded facilities and music access, with their offices located in the Student Government Association office, broadcasting on 104.7 FM, on radiating cable.
In 2002 an application was petitioned (along with Bethune-Cookman College) to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for the use of a new low-power FM frequency in the Daytona Beach Area. In 2004 WERU moved into its current studio (SC 111), and later that year in anticipation of receiving an FCC construction permit, WERU officially changed over to WIKD, and began branding themselves as the new "Eagles FM". In February 2005, construction of the tower, antenna structure, and transmitter were all completed, and official broadcasting on lower-power FM commenced.
Christmas Day 2006 an F2 tornado struck the Embry-Riddle Daytona Campus, causes millions of dollars in damages, subsequently damaging the radio station studios. Though the valiant work of many, Eagles FM was quickly back up and running, and within 2 months was back to broadcasting standard.
Eagles FM continuously strives to provide the highest quality of radio entertainment in Daytona Beach, broadcasting out of a fully digital capable studio, providing the only structured, free-format radio option in Daytona Beach. Through our increased partnership with Bethune-Cookman, Eagles FM is poised to meet the challenges of radio in the future, as well as any possible upgrades in broadcast quality, equipment, or broadcast license.

WIKD Entertainment started out in 2001, as Mobile Sounds, with a Gemini 'Starter-DJ' speaker kit, party CD players, and an amplifier.
Improvements in services, pricing, DJ pay, and equipment started in 2004 with then manager George Hicks (DJ Robbio Robbio). Equipment was upgraded to JBL speakers, and Crown amplifiers, with improvements in CD players, mixer boards, and microphones. In 2007, under the direction of Station Director Thomas Flanary, Mobile Sounds experienced a name change to WIKD Entertainment, and embarked on an ambitious project to improve the abilities and services to the Daytona Beach community as a whole, with a possible upgrade to all Pioneer DVJ equipment, projectors, Martin "intelligent lighting", and an improved JBL speaker set.
