Troops of the Nigerian Army have captured 19 family members of suspected bandits and cleared several camps during operations in Dajin Madam Forest, Bauchi State.
The operation, carried out by troops of the 33 Artillery Brigade in conjunction with a team from the Office of the National Security Adviser, targeted identified bandit enclaves, including Azuge and Hari camps.

According to the Army, a number of bandits were killed during the operation, while others fled. Those taken into custody include six women and 13 children. Troops also destroyed several motorcycles used by the group.
Items recovered from the camps include an AK-47 magazine, tramadol packs, a police uniform, military uniforms and two horses.

The Army said troops are holding positions in the forest to prevent the return of fleeing suspects.
In a follow-up operation to Mainamaji, conducted after recent air strikes on bandit hideouts, troops reported no contact, indicating reduced activity in the area.

The Army said operations will continue as part of efforts to limit the movement of armed groups and restore security.
