NIS Celebrates Retiring DCGs, ACG After 35 Years of Service

Abuja- The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has honoured four senior officers who retired after 35 years of what it described as meritorious, patriotic and exemplary service to the nation.

The officers were celebrated at a grand valedictory session held at the NIS Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday, September 24, 2026.

The retirees are Deputy Comptroller-General (DCG), Planning, Research and Statistics, DM Bagari; DCG, ICT and Cybersecurity, A. Obianime; DCG, Border Management, AR Sabo; and Assistant Comptroller-General (ACG), Migration Directorate, AM Halliday.

The Comptroller-General of Immigration, KN Nandap, represented by the DCG, Visa and Residency, FU Nwanneka, commended the retirees for their leadership, dedication and contributions to the growth and transformation of the Service.

According to a statement signed by the Service Public Relations Officer, DCI AS Akinlabi, Nwanneka conveyed the appreciation of the entire NIS to the retiring officers and wished them success and fulfilment in retirement.

The event brought together top management officials, senior officers, family members, friends and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the careers and achievements of the four officers.

The Service described the valedictory session as a celebration of excellence, legacy and selfless service, as the officers formally bowed out after more than three decades of service to Nigeria.
