The Anambra State Police Command has assured residents that investigations into the suspected murder of a 23-year-old female student in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area, are ongoing and that those responsible will be brought to justice.
The assurance came as a delegation of Alor community leaders, led by the President General, Emmanuel Ojukwu, and accompanied by traditional chiefs, visited the State Police Command to support the investigation into the incident.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the community leaders provided information to assist investigators and reaffirmed their commitment to working with the police to ensure justice is served.
During the meeting, the Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, assured the delegation that the command would thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the student’s death and prosecute anyone found culpable. He also urged members of the public to remain calm, avoid speculation and provide credible information that could aid the investigation.
The President General of Alor community commended the police for their prompt response and professionalism, expressing confidence in the investigation and pledging the community’s continued cooperation. The command assured the victim’s family and the public that further updates would be provided as investigations progress.
