APC Mourns Death of National Secretary’s Mother at 92

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Alhaja Sidikat Basiru, the mother of its National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, who passed away at the age of 92.

According to a statement signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, on Sunday, the APC described the late Alhaja Basiru as a devout Muslim, compassionate mother and respected matriarch whose life was marked by faith, sacrifice and selfless service to her family and community.

The ruling party said the deceased raised her children on the values of discipline, integrity and the fear of Allah, noting that her exemplary character, wisdom and religious devotion were reflected in the public service and accomplishments of Senator Basiru and her other children.

On behalf of the National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, the National Working Committee, party leaders, members and supporters, the APC extended its heartfelt condolences to Senator Basiru and the entire Basiru family over the loss.

The party prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, accept her righteous deeds and grant her eternal rest in Al-Jannatul Firdaus.
