Nigeria’s ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated committees to oversee its forthcoming governorship primary election in Osun State.
The party’s National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on Friday inaugurated the Osun State Governorship Primary Election Committee and the Primary Election Appeal Committee at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja.

The primary election committee is chaired by the Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, and includes Governors Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello as members. Hon. Solomon Maren will serve as secretary of the committee.
Meanwhile, the Primary Election Appeal Committee is chaired by the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni. Other members are the Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau; a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Idris Wase; and Mohammed Kesto, with Hon. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu serving as secretary.

The inauguration signals the formal commencement of preparations by the APC ahead of its Osun governorship primary, as the party moves to organise a transparent and orderly process for the selection of its candidate.
