Mrs Catherine Diwa has officially assumed office as the 16th Chairperson of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association, 7 Division Chapter, during a handover ceremony held at the Maimalari Military Cantonment in Maiduguri.
The ceremony, which took place at the NAOWA Secretariat Multipurpose Hall, featured cultural displays, choreography, exchange of gifts, and the symbolic presentation of handover notes and the NAOWA flag.

Speaking at the event, the outgoing chairperson, Mrs Onyinye Unachukwu, congratulated her successor and highlighted some of the achievements recorded during her tenure, including ongoing projects such as the construction of a skill acquisition centre for barracks residents.
She expressed confidence in Mrs Diwa’s ability to sustain ongoing programmes and build on the progress achieved by the association.

In her remarks, Mrs Diwa commended her predecessor for her contributions to the growth of the association and pledged to continue humanitarian and empowerment programmes within the division’s area of responsibility.
She also reaffirmed commitment to the vision of the National President of NAOWA, Safiyyah Hassan Shaibu, aimed at promoting self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods among military families.

The new chairperson further called for unity, cooperation, and commitment among members of the association.
The event concluded with a guided tour of NAOWA facilities and a group photograph session
