The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, hosted members of the 41 Regular Combatant Course Alumni Association at the Army Headquarters, Abuja, in a heartfelt reunion marked by reflection, and renewed commitment to national service.
In a statement signed by the Acting Director Army Public Relations Lieutenant Colonel, Appolonia Anele, the Chief of Army Staff expressed deep appreciation for their visit, describing them as “an integral part of his success journey.” He lauded the enduring bond forged at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), noting that the shared experiences and wisdom of the 41 Regular Course continue to enrich the Nigerian Army and the nation.

Lt Gen Shaibu reaffirmed his determination to collaborate closely with both serving and retired colleagues in advancing national security, unity, and professional excellence.
Reiterating his commitment to collective responsibility in tackling the nation’s security challenges, Lt Gen Shaibu urged his coursemates to remain his “eyes and ears” in the field, emphasizing that their continued insight and support are vital to the success of his command.

Earlier in his address, the President of the 41 Regular Combatant Course Alumni Association, Major Lancelot Anyanya (Rtd), congratulated the COAS on his appointment as the 25th Army Chief, describing him as “a friend, brother, and leader whose elevation has brought immense pride” to members of their course across the armed forces. He commended Lt Gen Shaibu’s professionalism and leadership, recalling his exemplary record since their days at the NDA.
The delegation also extended felicitations to Mrs. Safiyyah Hassan Shaibu, National President of the Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), assuring the COAS of their unwavering support in his quest for a safer, stronger, and more united Nigeria.
