Customs, DSS Renew Commitment to Strengthen Security Collaboration in Kogi

The Nigeria Customs Service and the Department of State Services (DSS) have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening inter-agency collaboration and intelligence sharing to enhance security operations in Kogi State.

The renewed commitment was made during a courtesy visit by the Customs Area Controller, Niger/Kogi Area Command, Comptroller Muhammad Sani Umar, to the Kogi State Director of the DSS, Aliyu Bashir, in Lokoja.

.Speaking during the visit, Comptroller Umar stressed the importance of intelligence sharing and sustained collaboration among security agencies, noting that effective partnership was essential to achieving their respective mandates.

He said enhanced cooperation would improve the monitoring of the movement of goods and persons, thereby strengthening national security and protecting the country’s economy.

In his response, the DSS State Director, Aliyu Bashir, welcomed the visit and reaffirmed the service’s commitment to continued collaboration with the Nigeria Customs Service.

Bashir emphasised the need for the partnership to extend beyond leadership levels to include operational and field personnel, in order to facilitate seamless intelligence sharing and effective service delivery.

Both agencies pledged to strengthen existing ties and work closely to enhance security and stability across Kogi State.
