DHQ Delegation Condoles Family of Late Major General Rabe Abubakar, Katsina Government

A delegation from the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), led by Major General IM Abdullahi, Chief of Administration (Army), has paid condolence visits to the family of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar (retd) and the Katsina State Government following the retired senior officer’s death.

According to a statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, Media Information Officer, Joint Task Force (North West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA, the delegation visited Katsina on Sunday on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa, and the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) to convey their condolences to the bereaved family, the government and the people of Katsina State.

During a visit to the family residence in Katsina, Major General Abdullahi described the late officer as a dedicated and patriotic soldier who served the nation with distinction in various capacities throughout his military career.

He said Major General Abubakar made significant contributions to the growth of the Nigerian Army and Nigeria’s security architecture, noting that his years of service and sacrifice would continue to inspire officers and soldiers of the Armed Forces.

The Army chief also assured the family that security agencies would continue efforts to ensure those responsible for the officer’s death are brought to justice and pledged the military’s support to the family during the mourning period.

A national flag was subsequently presented to the family in honour of the late general’sservice to the nation.

Responding on behalf of the family, Alhaji Dikko Mu’azu Ruma expressed appreciation to the Chief of Defence Staff and the Armed Forces of Nigeria for their support and solidarity.

The delegation later paid a condolence visit to the Katsina State Government House, where it was received by the Deputy Governor, Faruk Lawal Jobe, on behalf of Governor Dikko Umar Radda.

The deputy governor described the death of Major General Abubakar as a painful loss to Katsina State and the nation, noting that his dedication to national service and security would remain a source of inspiration for future generations.

He called for greater collaboration among stakeholders to tackle security challengesand eliminate the activities of terrorists and other criminal elements across the country.

Major General Abdullahi thanked the Katsina State Government for its continued support for military operations, stressing that cooperation between the military and state authorities remains crucial to achieving lasting peace and security in the North-West region.

Special prayers were offered at both the family residence and the Government House for the repose of the late officer’s soul.

The delegation included senior military officers, retired generals, traditional rulers and other prominent indigenes of Katsina State.
