The Inspector-General of Police, Olutunji Rilwan Disu, on Thursday, 16 April 2026, received the Director-General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Professor Ayo Omotayo, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja to discuss areas of collaboration.
According to a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Okon Placid, the Director-General was accompanied by DIG ‘Leye Oyebade (Rtd) and Dr Garba Malumfashi.
The meeting focused on strengthening partnership between NIPSS and the Nigeria Police Force in areas including national security, leadership, capacity development and policy support.

Omotayo said the institute operates under the Presidency and serves as a platform for policy formulation, research and dialogue involvingsenior public officials and stakeholders.
In his remarks, Disu said collaboration between the police and policy institutions is necessary for achieving national security goals. He reiterated the Force’s focus on intelligence-led policing, capacity development and ongoing reforms.
The Inspector-General also stated that the police are ready to partner with NIPSS on research, policy development and leadership initiatives aimed at improving internal security and governance.
The Nigeria Police Force said it will continue to pursue institutional partnerships to support security efforts in the country.
