The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Kemi Nandap, has joined heads of agencies under the Ministry of Interior at the ministry’s 2026 Performance Management Retreat in Abuja.
The three-day retreat, which ended on 7 March at the Nigeria Army Conference Centre and Suites in Asokoro, brought together senior officials to review performance and set targets for the year ahead.

According to a statement signed by the Service Public Relations Officer, Deputy Controller of Immigration Akinlabi Akinlabi, the highlight of the event was the signing of a 2026 performance bond by heads of agencies with the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
In his closing remarks, Mr Tunji-Ojo urged agency heads to intensify efforts to meet both the administrative and security needs of Nigerians. He said improvements recorded in the past year in border governance, emergency response and custodial reforms should not lead to complacency as the ministry pushes for stronger performance in 2026.

The retreat also reviewed the performance of agencies under the ministry, with the Nigeria Immigration Service ranked as the top-performing agency for 2025.
The immigration service said it remains committed to strengthening border governance, improving migration management and expanding the use of technology in its operations.
