Imo State Governor- Uzodimma Named Chair of APC’s 2026 National Convention Committee as Party Releases Fees for Nomination Forms

Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum, Hope Uzodimma, has been appointed to lead the Central Coordination Committee for the All Progressives Congress (APC) 2026 National Convention.

The party on Tuesday unveiled the 73-member committee, which will oversee preparations for the national convention expected to shape internal party leadership and its broader direction ahead of the 2027 general elections. The Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, was named Vice Chairman, while Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni will serve as Secretary.

Alongside the committee announcement, the APC also released the approved fees for the purchase of Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms for party offices at national, state, zonal and ward levels.

For national positions, aspirants for the post of National Chairman will pay ₦10 million for the nomination form and ₦100,000 for the expression of interest. Those seeking the offices of Deputy National Chairman (North and South) and National Secretary are expected to pay ₦7.5 million each, while other national offices attract a ₦5 million nomination fee. Members seeking National Executive Committee (NEC) positions will pay ₦250,000.

At the state level, nomination forms for the position of State Chairman are pegged at ₦1 million, while aspirants for State Vice Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer will pay ₦500,000. Other state-level positions also attract ₦500,000.

Zonal offices require ₦200,000 for nomination forms and ₦100,000 for expression of interest.

At the local government tier, the nomination form for Local Government Chairman is fixed at ₦100,000, with other positions attracting ₦50,000. Ward Chairman forms cost ₦20,000, while Ward Secretary, Treasurer, Vice Chairman and other offices range between ₦15,000 and ₦20,000.

The party noted that female aspirants, youths and persons with disabilities will pay only the expression of interest fee and 50% of the stipulated nomination fees for each position.
