The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has launched its Mega Voter Registration Exercise in Lagos Central, aiming to increase voter access and participation in the electoral process.
The ceremony took place at Ajele Sports Complex (Campos), Lagos Island, led by Resident Electoral Commissioner Professor Ayobami Salami.

The Mega Centre is designed to address high registration volumes in urban areas, reduce congestion, and provide efficient services with additional personnel and equipment.
The exercise, running from April 7-12, 2026, offers services including fresh registration, transfer of registration, updating voter details, and replacing lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

Prof. Salami urged eligible residents, especially first-time voters, to register and participate in Nigeria’s democratic process. The Commission is committed to ensuring no eligible voter is disenfranchised. Registration centres will operate daily from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
