Kogi Gov’t Charges Athletes to Win Medals at National Sports Festival

The Kogi State Government has called on its athletes to win medals as they leave Lokoja to represent the state at the National Sports Festival in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Speaking in Lokoja during takeoff, the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Monday Anyebe, urged the athletes to make the state proud by winning medals.

Hon. Anyebe said the government has made all the necessary arrangements to support the team and called on the athletes to display discipline, dedication, and true sportsmanship.

Also speaking, the Director of Administration in the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mallam Yahaya Ibraheem, encouraged the team to have a winning mindset and remain focused on their goals.

The Chairman of the Kogi State Sports Council Abdulmalik Isah, challenged the athletes to aim high and bring home gold medals.

Speaking on behalf of the athletes, Celestina Uloko, promised they would do their best to make the state proud.

She thanked Governor Usman Ododo and the Commissioner for Youth and Sports for ensuring their welfare is well taken care of.
