The Kogi State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police CP Naziru Bello Kankarofi, convened a stakeholders’ meeting to address recurring clashes between herders and farmers in the state.
The meeting brought together Local Government Chairmen, traditional rulers, youth representatives, and security officials.

Key issues discussed included destruction of farmlands, reprisal attacks, and inadequate communication. Stakeholders emphasized tolerance, cooperation, and respect for the law. Resolutions included:
• Forgiving past conflicts
• Forming dispute resolution committees
• Compensating victims of past crises
• Restraining youth from violence
• Banning illegal arms and underage herding
• Creating grazing areas
• Maintaining peace and reporting incidents to security agencies

CP Kankarofi reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to community-based policing and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure lasting peace and security.
