The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), on Thursday joined eminent Nigerians as the Special Guest of Honour at the 60th birthday celebration of veteran journalist, politician and media entrepreneur, Hon. Durosinmi Meseko, in Abuja.
The event also featured the public presentation of Meseko’s book, “An Odyssey through the Media, Activism and Leadership,” which chronicles his experiences in journalism, public service, political engagement and leadership.
The ceremony attracted senior government officials, political leaders, media executives, members of the diplomatic community, business leaders and other dignitaries, who paid tribute to Meseko’s contributions to journalism, democratic governance and national development.
Marwa congratulated the celebrant on attaining the milestone age of 60 and commended his decades of service in the media and public sectors. He described the publication as a valuable contribution to Nigeria’s growing body of literature on leadership, public communication and democratic development.
Meseko, a former member of the House of Representatives and an accomplished journalist, built his career with prominent media organisations before venturing into politics and public service. He is also the founder of the online news platform DGovSCOOPS and has remained active in national political and media affairs.
Guests at the event described the book as a reflection on Meseko’s journey through journalism, activism and leadership, expressing hope that it would serve as a source of inspiration for young journalists, public servants and aspiring leaders.
The event concluded with the formal unveiling of the book and goodwill messages in honour of the celebrant’s contributions to nation-building.
