The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has engaged leaders and residents of Igbokoda, Ondo State, over concerns about the possible impact of ongoing aircraft crash recovery operations on their water source.
According to a statement signed by the Director of Public Relations and Information, Headquarters Nigerian Air Force, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, on Friday, the Air Officer Commanding, Tactical Air Command, Air Vice Marshal MC Ekwueme, visited the community on the directive of the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke.

The statement said the NAF acknowledged residents’ concerns and assured them of its commitment to addressing the issues through appropriate channels.

It added that multiple pumping machines had been deployed to remove water around the crash site to facilitate access to the wreckage, which remains submerged and deeply embedded in the riverbed.
The Service also assured bereaved families that approved entitlements, including benevolent funds, scholarships for eligible children and other welfare benefits, would be processed.
The NAF said it would sustain engagement with the community, support affected families and provide verified updates as recovery operations continue.
