The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has commemorated International Women’s Day 2026 with a celebration in Abuja, highlighting the significant contributions of women to public health and national development. The event was held under the theme “Give to Gain”.

Speaking at the event, NAFDAC’s Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, emphasized the importance of recognizing women’s resilience and contributions to the agency’s mission to safeguard lives. She highlighted the agency’s Maternal, Newborn and Child Health Initiative, launched in November 2025, which aims to improve the health and well-being of women and children.

The event brought together NAFDAC staff and stakeholders to reflect on the role of women in strengthening healthcare systems and community well-being. Mrs. Joan Agbaagu, Head of the Reforms Unit, noted that the theme “Give to Gain” underscores the value of selfless service and collective commitment to improving the health of mothers, women, and children.

NAFDAC’s celebration of International Women’s Day recognizes the agency’s women staff and their contributions to public health, emphasizing that investing in women’s and children’s health is crucial for a healthier and more sustainable future.
