National Assembly Passes N2.28 Trillion FCT 2026 Budget
The national assembly has passed the N2.285 trillion 2026 appropriation bill for the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT).
The bill scaled third reading at the senate and the house of representatives during plenary.
While presenting a report on the budget at the green chamber, Muktar Betara, chairman of the house committee on FCT, said Nyesom Wike, FCT minister, defended the money bill before the joint committees of the senate and house of representatives.
A breakdown of the budget showed that N165.77 billion is allocated to personnel costs, N378.23 billion to overhead costs, and N1.741 trillion to capital projects.
The lower legislative chamber also approved the N1.750 trillion 2026 budget of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The commission’s budget includes N47.57 billion for personnel expenditure and N49.93 billion for overhead costs.
A total of N22.36 billion is earmarked for internal capital expenditure, while N1.631 trillion is allocated to development projects for the 2026 fiscal year.
