Abujahe Nigerian Navy has uncovered 75,000 litres of suspected crude oil stored in three dugout reservoirs in the Oteghele area of Delta State during operations against oil theft.
The discoveries were made by personnel of Nigerian Navy Ship DELTA on October 12 and 14 under Operation DELTA SENTINEL, with 30,000 litres found in one reservoir during the first operation and another 45,000 litres recovered from two reservoirs during the second.
According to a statement signed by the Director of Naval Information, Navy Captain Abiodun Folorunsho, the discoveries exposed concealed storage facilities suspected of supporting the illegal petroleum trade.
The Navy said the operations were aimed at disrupting the storage and movement of suspected stolen crude oil and curbing economic sabotage.

It added that intelligence-led operations would continue to identify and dismantle facilities linked to crude oil theft and illegal refining, while protecting the nation’s oil and gas assets.
