Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have dismantled several drug joints and hideouts within and around the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, arresting 132 suspects and recovering 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances during a two-week operation.

In a statement signed by the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA said the coordinated raids were carried out between April 11 and April 25, 2026, by officers of the Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command following weeks of intelligence gathering and surveillance.

The agency said notorious drug hubs raided during the exercise included Torabora Hills, Area 3, Gwarinpa, AYA, Durumi, Banex, Dei-Dei, Kubwa, Apo, Kwali, Gwagwalada, Wuse Zone 4, Garki Area 10, Jabi and the Suleja axis, among otherlocations.

Items recovered from the operations included 214.79kg of skunk, 5.524kg of Diazepam, 2.352kg of Exol, 1.119kg of Tramadol, 145.8 grams of Mogadon, 93.52 grams of cocaine, 84.3 grams of Rohypnol, 10.9 grams of methamphetamine, 3.17 grams of ecstasy and six bottles of codeine syrup.

The NDLEA said officers encountered resistance from suspected traffickers at the Durumi Area 1 and Suleja Market axes, but operatives subdued the suspects and dismantled their distribution networks without recording any casualty.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the agency, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.), commended the officers involved in the operation and directed that the same strategy be replicated in other high-risk urban centres to sustain pressure on drug cartels nationwide.
