The Commander Infantry Corps of the Nigerian Army, Major General Godwin Michael Mutkut, has urged graduating officers and soldiers to uphold discipline and professionalism in their duties, particularly in operational theatres across the country.

In a statement signed by Captain Shamsudeen Umar, acting assistant director of army public relations at the Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI), the charge was given during a combined graduation ceremony held on Thursday at the Ihejirika Auditorium, Jaji Military Cantonment in Kaduna State.

Major General Mutkut said effective training remained central to military success, especially in tackling Nigeria’s evolving security challenges. He expressed confidence that the graduates, having undergone rigorous instruction, would contribute meaningfully to ongoing operations nationwide.

The Commandant of NASI, Major General FrankSunday Etim, said the institution had equipped participants with the necessary skills through a blend of classroom teaching, practical exercises and field training. He reaffirmed the school’s commitment to strengthening the capacity of Nigerian Army personnel.

Courses completed by the graduates included the Commanding Officers Course 49, Company Commanders Course 81, Young Officers Course 146 and Tactics Instructors Course 28, among others.

The ceremony also featured the presentation of awards to outstanding students, the decoration of newly promoted officers and the conferment of an airborne badge on a cadet of the Nigerian Defence Academy.
