Ododo Meets Mohammed Audu, Seeks Greater Cooperation on Kogi Development

Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has met with Prince Mohammed Audu, son of the late former governor of the state, Prince Abubakar Audu, to discuss economic development, agricultural growth and political unity in the state.

According to the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Femi Fanwo, the meeting, which took place during the governor’s visit to Audu’s residence, focused on strengthening Kogi’s economy, improving the welfare of residents and creating greater opportunities for farmers.

Ododo and Audu discussed ways to boost agricultural production, particularly by improving the state’s cashew value chain to enable farmers and the state government derive greater economic benefits from the sector.

Audu expressed his readiness to work with the Ododo administration to attract development to the state and called for greater cooperation among political stakeholders.

He commended the governor for visiting his residence and described the gesture as a demonstration of humility. He also thanked Ododo for organising the 10th anniversary ceremony marking his father’s death and for naming a road after the late governor.

Audu further urged Ododo to sustain his reconciliation efforts within the All Progressives Congress, APC, saying stronger cooperation among party stakeholders would promote peace and development in the state.

The meeting also featured discussions on strengthening unity within the APC and mobilising stakeholders around the political and developmental interests of Kogi State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ododo has continued to engage political stakeholders as part of efforts to strengthen cooperation within the state and support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
