Operation FANSAN YAMMA: Troops Rescue Seven Kidnap Victims in Katsina

Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued seven kidnap victims following a swift intervention along the Daye-Malumfashi Road in Danmusa Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The victims, comprising six female students of the Federal University Dutsin-Ma and a male commercial driver, were rescued unhurt after troops responded to a distress call over an attack on a commercial vehicle travelling from Kaduna to Katsina on September 21, 2026.

According to the statement, the troops arrived at the scene promptly, forcing the kidnappers to abandon their captives and flee into the surrounding area. The rescued victims subsequently underwent preliminary security profiling and medical evaluation before being handed over to designated officials for reunification with their families and the university authorities.

The operation further highlights the ongoing efforts of troops under Operation FANSAN YAMMA to tackle kidnapping and other criminal activities across the North-West.
