Troops of the 12 Brigade, Nigerian Army, have overrun a key terrorist camp under Operation IGBO IDANU I, Kogi State, delivered a strategic blow to a network linked to Kachalla Ibrahim and Shu’aibu.

Advancing through dense forests and riverine terrain, soldiers recovered significant arms and ammunition, including 7.62 x 54 mm rounds and high-velocity grenades, before destroying the camp to prevent reoccupation.

According to the statement issued by the 12 Brigade, the operation, personally led by Brigadier General Kasim Umar Sidi, involved troops advancing on foot to achieve tactical surprise. The Nigerian Army emphasized that the success degrades terrorist capabilities, disrupts fleeing elements, and reaffirms its commitment to securing communities and ensuring lasting peace in the region.
