A political support group has reaffirmed its backing for the retention of the zoning arrangement within the ruling party, insisting that the position of national chairman should remain in Nigeria’s North Central region.
Speaking to journalists, Dr Dominic Alancha said the group had earlier, in January, called for the preservation of the zoning formula, arguing that it was key to stability within the party.
He said the group continued to support the current national chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, citing what he described as his “capacity and competence” to lead the party into future elections.
