Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have intensified offensive operations against terrorists in Zamfara State, killing two insurgents and recovering arms during coordinated clearance missions across parts of the state.
The operation, carried out by troops of Sector 2 on May 4, targeted identified terrorist enclaves in Maikwanuga village in Talata Mafara Local Government Area as well as Aljumma, Gidan Dawa, Magami Didi and Tungar Magaji villages in Maradun Local Government Area.
According to a statement issued by the Media Information Officer of Joint Task Force (North West) Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, troops encountered terrorists at Tungar Magaji village and engaged them with what he described as overwhelming firepower, neutralising two of the insurgents while others fled the area.

The troops subsequently conducted a search operation and recovered one AK-47 rifle loaded with 30 rounds of ammunition as well as a motorcycle believed to have been used by the fleeing terrorists.
The military said the operations formed part of ongoing efforts to dismantle terrorist hideouts within the Bagega–Sunke forest corridor and restore lasting peace to affected communities, while urging residents to continue providing credible information to security agencies.
