Troops Recover AK-47 Rifles, Arrest Two Suspects in Delta Community

Troops of Headquarters 63 Brigade under Sector 1 of Operation DELTA SAFE have recovered arms and arrested two suspected criminals in Ogidigben Community.

In a statement signed by Captain Iliyasu Bawa-Rijau, the operation followed reports of sporadic gunfire in the community.

The troops were said to have acted on intelligence and moved swiftly to the area, leading to the recovery of four AK-47 rifles, six magazines, 106 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, two knives, 10 machetes and four rain boots.

Two suspects were arrested during the operation and are currently in custody for further investigation.

Commander of 63 Brigade, MoronfolAbdulmoshood Shonibare, commended the troops for their efforts and urged them to sustain the operational momentum.

He reaffirmed the brigade’s commitment to denying criminal groups freedom of operation and warned individuals in possession of illegal arms or involved in criminal activities to desist or face arrest.
