Troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE have rescued a kidnapped woman and recovered N8 million ransom in Qua’an Pan Local Government Area.
In a statement signed by Captain Chinonso Polycarp Oteh, the operation was carried out on April 25, 2026, by troops deployed in Sector 9 Shendam.

The victim was abducted on April 19 from Bauna area of Shendam Local Government Area. Troops said intelligence gathering and the interrogation of an arrested suspect led to the discovery of her location at Padam Forest in Qua’an Pan, where she was rescued.
The troops also recovered N8 million earlier paid by the victim’s family as ransom to the kidnappers.Following her rescue, the victim was taken to General Hospital, Shendam, for medical examination before being reunited with her family. The recovered ransom was also returned to the family.

Military authorities said troops are continuing operations in hideouts within Qua’an Pan and Shendam local government areas to track and arrest other members of the kidnapping syndicate.
The task force urged residents to continue providing timely information to support security efforts in the area.
