Two suspected bandits have been neutralised by troops of 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) during a clearance operation in Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State.
The operation followed credible intelligence on the activities of armed criminals at a hideout around Dooshima District in Sarkin Kudu area of the state.

According to a statement issued by the Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations, 6 Brigade Nigerian Army, Lieutenant Umar Muhammad, troops engaged the suspects in a fierce gun battle during the raid.
The Army said two suspects were killed in the encounter, while others escaped with suspectedgunshot wounds.
Items recovered from the operation included one AK-47 rifle, one AK-47 magazine, a locally fabricated pistol, mobile phones and two charm vests.

Commander of 6 Brigade NA/Sector 3 OPWS, Brigadier General Chukwuemeka Michael Akaliro, commended the troops for their swift response and reaffirmed the Brigade’s commitment to sustaining operations against criminal elements in Taraba State.
