The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa Oluyede, has extended Eid el-Fitr greetings to members of the Armed Forces, urging them to uphold discipline, unity and professionalism as they continue to tackle the country’s security challenges.
In a goodwill message marking the end of Ramadan, General Oluyede congratulated officers, soldiers and civilian staff on completing the holy month, describing it as a period of sacrifice, prayer and reflection. He encouraged personnel to sustain the values of honesty, compassion, tolerance and peace beyond the festivities.
The defence chief paid tribute to troops who have lost their lives in the line of duty and those who have been injured, acknowledging their sacrifices in safeguarding Nigeria’s sovereignty. He said the military remains committed to strengthening joint operations across the country and adapting to evolving security threats, while also prioritising thewelfare and well-being of personnel.
General Oluyede also called on Nigerians to support the armed forces, stressing that national security requires collective effort from government, communities and citizens. He expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for continued support to the military, citing improvements in operational capacity and personnel welfare.
He wished members of the armed forces and Nigerians at large a peaceful and joyous Eid celebration.
