The Nigerian Army has taken a bold step toward strengthening personnel welfare, as the Honourable Minister of Defence, Christopher Gwabin Musa, officially launched the Senior Executive Career Transition Programme (SECTP).
The initiative, executed by the Nigerian Army Heritage and Future Centre, is designed to help senior officers prepare for life after active military service, ensuring a smooth and structured transition into civilian careers.

Held at Zuma Rock Resort in Suleja, the event drew top military leadership, including the Chief of Army Staff, senior defence officials, and key stakeholders across the armed forces.
The intensive two-week programme will equip participants with practical knowledge in retirement planning, financial management, entrepreneurship, and career reinvention, alongside mentorship from accomplished retired officers and real-world corporate exposure.

Speaking at the event, the Minister emphasized that military leadership must go beyond active service, stressing the need to support personnel even after retirement through strategic human capital development initiatives like SECTP.
