Dino Melaye Turns Heads With Bold Fashion Choice at ADC Convention in Abuja

ABUJA — Senator Dino Melaye drew attention at the African Democratic Congress (ADC) National Convention in Abuja on Tuesday, making what attendees described as a bold fashion statement on the convention floor.

Melaye arrived at the venue in grand style. The look immediately set him apart from other delegates, many of whom wore traditional agbada, party-branded attire, and/or corporate suits.

Delegates and onlookers reacted quickly, with photos and videos of the former Kogi West senator circulating on X and Instagram within minutes of his arrival.

Several party members said the outfit reflected confidence, cultural pride, political messaging, and individuality.

Melaye, known for his flamboyant style and theatrical public appearances, has previously used fashion to make political statements, honor constituents, mark major events.

Tuesday’s appearance comes as the ADC elects new leadership, repositions ahead of 2027, and unveils policy agenda.

The ADC National Convention, held at in Abuja, brought together hundreds of delegates, party chieftains, former officeholders from across the 36 states and the FCT.

The event featured key agenda items: speeches, elections, adoption of resolutions.
