Nigerian Nollywood actor David Osagie, popularly known as Sir David, has been reported dead.

He was said to have died hours after filming on a movie set.

The actor was known for playing the role of a king in many movies.

Nollywood actress, Ngozi Ezehwho, who confirmed his death on Wednesday, said the actor was not sick but slept and did not wake up the following day.

Another Nollywood actress, Ibiwari Etuk, who seemed to be aware of the development, said the actor had finished filming and went to rest, only for him not to wake up again.

Meanwhile, president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas has called for an investigation into the cause of mysterious deaths of members of the guild.

The AGN President further admonished actors yet to register under the guild to do so, adding that it is gross irresponsibility not to be up to date with the guild.
