The Nigeria Basketball Federation has assigned D’Tigers assistant coach, Ogoh Odaudu, to scout for players that can add value to the senior men and women’s national teams.

This was made known in a media statement from the NBBF on Thursday.

The NBBF president, Musa Ahmadu-Kida, said the move was to give the players an opportunity to fight for a chance to represent the country.

Ahmadu-Kida said the festival will give them a chance to evaluate the readiness and suitability of some of the local talents, adding that they are hoping that the players who will be on display will come with their best and make it difficult for the technical crew to overlook them.

The Benue State-born Odaudu will also lead Rivers Hoopers to the Basketball Africa League after they emerged champions of the 2019 President’s Cup.

The historic inaugural season will tip off May 16 at the Kigali Arena in Kigali, Rwanda, with 12 teams from across Africa competing in the new professional league.
